Elishah has been changing the way Christian rock is viewed in the western regions of North Carolina. After several stylistic changes, a lot of prayer and practice, and more than a little help from producer/mentor Ricky Rodriguez (Bombhouse Studios), the members of Elishah have brought something new to the ears of their listeners, most notable in their lates...t release, Nothing’s Broken (Jan. 2009).

From the opening track to the final note of Nothing’s Broken, any listener can hear the passionate heartbeat of a generation starving for a better relationship with Jesus Christ. Through soaring melodies, energetic harmonies, and a new lyrical depth, Elishah has laid the groundwork for a signature sound that will surely shed light on the truth of Christ, while satisfying the sonic palate.

While turning up the volume on songs like “Whoa” and “Lost,” Elishah has maintained a deep conviction of the power of God’s truth in songs like “Poor Man,” which challenges the listener to reach out of his or her comfort zone to aid those in need. For those interested in congregational worship, “Words,” “Right Now,” and “Linger” express the desire of the human spirit to commune with God’s. Finally, the title track, “Nothing’s Broken,” gives a new spin on the concept of brokenness. Says Michael Atkins, “We so often say that brokenness in Christianity is a good thing, and it is; however, once we’ve been redeemed by Christ’s love, He fixes everything…nothing’s broken anymore.”

When asked about the future of Elishah, members all agree that there is a definite call on their lives collectively to pursue a career in sharing with others the truths God has given them through song. “This is our dream, and we’re so amazed that God would allow us to do what we love to in order to build up His kingdom,” says Jimmy Atkins. “More than anything, though, we want to be in His will. Like Jesus said and did, we want only to say what the Father says and do what the Father does. That is the goal.”
