Bio:  "The heart of the Gospel message is to help lost people find Christ and to help Christians get lost in God's will for their lives."

This quote is more than a mission statement for Awakening Ministries; it’s the daily goal for living for Brad Butler.  Awakening Ministries seeks to make the timeless truth of the gospel message relevant for the adults, youth, and children of today.

Through the use of visuals and multi-media, Brad seeks to make the word of God come alive so that people can experience life change that comes through Christ alone.

The founder of Awakening Ministries, Brad is teaching pastor for The Awakening, a contemporary worship experience at Getwell Road United Methodist Church in Southaven, MS, where he also serves as Minister of Discipleship. For 10 years, Brad served as Minister of Programming for Camp Lake Stephens in Oxford, Mississippi. "Camp Lake Stephens provided an unbelievable opportunity for me to introduce children and youth to our Creator while surrounded by his creation."

Brad has served as a featured speaker at youth and children's camps, Disciple Now weekends, and True Love Waits rallies throughout the country and around the world.  "Whether it's Amory, MS, Quito, Ecuador, North Richland Hills, Texas, or Sydney, Australia, the Gospel must be preached."  "The truth of Romans 6:23 and Joshua 24:15 never changes no matter the audience.  Methods may change, but the heart of the message never does." A native of Jackson, Mississippi, Brad is a graduate of Baylor University and has a Master of Christian Education from Southwestern Theological Seminary.

He teaches three Bible study groups and still finds time to watch college basketball. In his spare time, Brad enjoys following the beloved Mississippi State Bulldogs and Memphis Grizzlies, as well as golf, camping, hiking, rappelling and exploring the great outdoors. In essence, Brad is thankful to have found Christ, and his daily goal is to be more lost in God's will for his life.
